We threw our first community event - here's how it went 🎨

A few weeks ago, we did something we'd been quietly wanting to do for a while: we got out from behind our screens and actually met some of our customers and leads in person.

We hired a creative space in Redfern, set up some plant pots to paint and invited a mix of Streamtime customers, from big organisations to freelancers, to come spend a Thursday afternoon with us. We planned no agendas or product demos. We simply wanted good conversation, drinks, snacks and hopefully, laughs.

The idea came from a simple belief: the best relationships aren't built over support tickets. We wanted to create a space where our community could meet the team behind Streamtime - real humans from Customer Success, Product and Design — and just... talk. About their work, their businesses, their lives. About Streamtime too, if they felt like it.

And that's exactly what happened.

The energy in the room was warm from the start. There's something about painting pots side by side that breaks the ice faster than any icebreaker ever could. Conversations flowed easily, and it was genuinely lovely to put faces to names we'd only ever seen in an inbox.

This is just the beginning. We're planning to make these quarterly - Sydney first and then more cities as we go. Because if there's one thing this evening reminded me, it's that community isn't a feature. It's something you have to show up for.

Thank you to everyone who came along, and a special thank you to Julia, Brooke and Harry for helping bring it to life 🎨

See you at the next one.
